STEPS TO CREATING PODCASTS:

1. Determine content – what are you going to record
2. Determine format, how often, who’s the primary creator, does it rotate?
3. Purchase/download and assemble equipment need – try beginning with downloading Audacity - http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ - and purchasing an external mic with your computer OR a digital recording device if you are “on the road”
4. Arrange with people involved with the recording and set time and place
5. Record – in a quiet non distracting location
6. Edit your recording and export to mp3 file – can all be done through audacity
7. Listen to it! Make sure its good to go.
8. Upload to a web server – can be in your institution or online such as at Libsyn.com (a podcast hosting company for about $30 max a month)
9. Generate RSS feed - use feedburner.com – its free.
10. Publish feed URL
11. Promote, Respond, Repeat
